Principal's Message

Welcome students, parents, teachers,  community members and friends to the Queens High School of Teaching website. Our website will provide you with essential information and resources you may need to be an informed, productive member of the Queens High School of Teaching learning
community.

We pride ourselves in our ability to provide a high level education for all students and as evidenced by the top high school graduation rate in District 26, the Queens High School of Teaching has developed a reputation as a high-achieving, high-performing and inclusive school.

Our students take rigorous course-loads, including college level classes and participate in many extra-curricular activities. Because of these experiences, QHST students have been accepted into top colleges and universities such as Georgetown, Brown University, Columbia, University of Virginia and WestPoint. We offer a personalized learning environment
through our small learning community model and through our classrooms and our advisory program, we focus on the individual needs of our students. Our hallways and classrooms are filled with art, music and hands on learning experiences that reflect the value we place in
providing an experiential learning environment.

We have extensive external partnerships that are invaluable in our ability to provide the highest level of services in and outside of our
classrooms. Our school provides over twenty-six sports teams, fifteen clubs, numerous college collaborations and extensive weekend programs.

Many of our students come in before their school day and stay well past their school day through their participation in school programs.

We also have an incredible PTA who partners with the school on creating a dynamic learning environment for our students.

In this website you will find links on scheduling, our school policies, faculty contacts, and other useful information from the Department of Education website. We value community input, so if there are any
suggestions or recommendations please email us your ideas. We believe a strong partnership between parents/guardians, students, community members and the high school is essential in order to ensure that The
Queens High School of Teaching continues to experience success.

Please do not hesitate to contact me our guidance counselors or teachers at 718-736-7100 or via email. You will also find staff member contact information on this website.

Thank you for visiting and we hope you
leave more informed about The Queens High School of Teaching.

Sincerely,

Jae Cho, Principal
